And Azariah the chief priest of the house of Zadok answered him, and said, Since the people began to bring the offerings into the house of the LORD, we have had enough to eat, and have left plenty: for the LORD hath blessed his people; and that which is left is this great store.
Azariah, the chief priest from Zadok's family, answered him and said, 'Ever since the people started bringing their offerings to the Lord's house, we have had enough to eat and plenty left over. The Lord has blessed his people, and what remains is this huge supply.'
The chief priest is telling King Hezekiah that God has blessed the people so abundantly through their faithful giving that the priests have more than enough food and supplies.
📚 Historical Context
This occurred during King Hezekiah's religious reforms around 715 BC, when he restored proper worship and temple practices after years of neglect.
